Jobs in Sri Lanka

Jobs in sri lanka and all over the world

My fellow blogger Mehdi and I have been covering job related websites in South Asia for the last few days. Today, it is the run of Sri Lanka. When I searched about the country, I found JobsNet. I liked the homepage of the site. It does not contain any advertisement of any company- so the home page loaded in my PC very fast. However, the number of jobs available seemed to be very low compared to the other job portals that we covered in the last few days.
About the background of JobsNet I found this in its
website:
JobsNet is an implementation of initiative 7 of the National Employment Policy of Sri Lanka. “Creating an Employment Sourcing and Delivery System”. The National Employment Sourcing and Delivery System of Sri Lanka is referral system benefiting jobseekers, local and foreign employers and self employment seekers by providing referrals for jobs, training, information, advice and career guidance. It is an online referral system with a web interface at www.jobsnet.lk The project is a Public sector Private sector Partnership(PPP). As a National Project the Ministry of Labor Relation and Foreign Employment(MoLRFE) representing the public sector joins hands with the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce(CCC). harnessing the support and active participation of the private sector in this unique partnership. The International Labor Organisation(ILO) provides technical support to the project. The project is funded by the Swedish International Development Agency (Sida), up to year 2007.

I would like to see more jobs posted in JobsNet.
If you own a job website targeted to Asia and you want us to write about your job site then you can leave a comment and we will try to write about it. The use of Internet is increasing in South Asia rapidly. More and more people will search for jobs in South Asian countries. So, investing on job portals is a good business idea.
